Job Description
The Scientific Coordinator will perform project-based activities for the team of Reporting Officers Forensic DNA analysis. This team is responsible for the coordination and reporting of DNA analyses for traces that have been secured by the police. Due to rapid scientific and technical developments, there are many opportunities for this team. The Scientific Coordinator will perform several (project-based) activities to further develop the team, including:
Horizon scanning of possible applications;
Method development, internally or with partners, within Eurofins Forensics as well as external partners in the academic world and industry;
Validation and implementation of applications within the interpretation and reporting of biological trace analysis and/or DNA analysis (End User Requirements, Validation plan, Validation report);
Development/implementation of interpretation models;
Development/implementations of statistic evaluation of results;
Development/implementation of methods
Development/implementation of specialist software;
Contributing to the quality management system;
Having a pro-active approach towards Continuous Improvement within all aspect of the role; aspire to approving the output and efficiency of scientific and supporting tasks;
Work in accordance with the Eurofins-values of customer orientation, competency and team spirit, quality and integrity.
Qualifications
You at least have acquired a university degree in a natural scientific field (molecular biology, microbiology or -chemistry or forensic sciences, if enough scientific knowledge can be proven);
You have knowledge and experience with statistical models;
You have a strong affinity with quality awareness, you are customer oriented and you have an awareness for your environment;
You have a critical, constructive and flexible attitude;
You are energised by obtaining successes when under time pressure;
You work well individually, but you also are a team player;
You are precise and result/success oriented, with a strong work ethic;
You work in a structured manner and have strong communication skills;
You do not have a 9 to 5 mentality. Working irregular times and days is not a problem for you.
