Maastricht University’s Finance Department has a post-doc opening within an interdisciplinary team focused on (field) experiments at the intersection of pension planning and digital decision support.
Job Description
We seek a talented, motivated individual with excellent research and interpersonal skills, who wants to kick-start an academic career through this Post-doc. The project sets out to investigate how app-based digital decision support helps people in an easy as possible way to navigate the ever more complex world of long-term financial planning for pensions (details: ). The position will allow for ample opportunity to run lab and field experiments in collaboration with pension funds and financial service providers. Moreover, the position is connected to the Dutch Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement (Netspar) think-tank as well as collaborators from Goethe University Frankfurt and ZEW – Leibniz Center for European Economic Research ().
Requirements
We are looking for a Post-doc having ideally a background in economics or finance, but are also open to candidates in related fields such as judgement and decision-making, psychology, and marketing.
The candidate should have a recognizable interest in experimental research on financial decision-making, and skills to manage projects that involve collaboration with our industry partners. Knowledge of the Dutch language and institutional details of the Dutch pension landscape are a plus but not a must.
