The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Stirling Sports business has been simplified with a forward looking focus on their franchise company, eCommerce site and wholesale business. As a result of this change in direction, the Finance Manager role has been created for an experienced Accountant looking for a step up into a management role. With some accounts processing support, the team will work closely together to ensure the company’s monthly and statutory reporting requirements are met, and to provide quality financial insights to help the business make informed decisions.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Setting budgets & forecasts for the new financial year
- Preparation of month end accounts and GL reconciliations
- Sales analysis and review of forecasted vs actual results
- Tax obligations including GST, FBT & oversight of annual tax returns
- Updating financial models with monthly results
- Management of small finance team
- Maintenance of fixed asset register
- Cashflow management
- Managing counter party relationships with banks, IRD etc.
The Person
To be considered for this role you will ideally be CA qualified or equivalent and will have worked in a Chartered Accounting practice or a commercial accounting role where you have been responsible for month end accounting processes. Ideally you will have had some exposure to inventory and cost accounting and you will be competent in NZ tax compliance. We are seeking candidates who have an adaptable and flexible working style, who will take ownership and use their initiative. This is a fast paced environment which is set up to allow a team of talented and passionate people to work together to produce consistently great results and as such we are looking for candidates with a high level of energy and drive.
