As an Operations Coordinator, you will work in an environment where technology, research, quality, and collaboration come together—and where your work directly contributes to biomedical research and animal welfare.Operations CoordinatorOur goal: To further develop quality management and realize new, future‑proof research facilities.Your colleagues: Within the Central Animal Facilities (CAF), you will work alongside animal caretakers, biotechnicians, researchers, and support staff in a dedicated and professional team.The Central Animal Facilities support biomedical research involving animals at Maastricht University. The coming years will focus on development and innovation. Our quality management system will be further enhanced, while we simultaneously work on the renovation and modernization of our facilities. That is why we are looking for an Operations Coordinator who can maintain an overview, connect processes, and move projects forward.In this role, you will focus on two key pillars: further developing and embedding the quality management system, and contributing to the renovation project of new facilities. You will collaborate with various technical and facility services, external partners, and the management team, acting as the link between technology, organization, and research, ensuring that processes run smoothly and comply with all legal and technical requirements.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping, maintaining, and improving the quality management system (ISO 9001:2015)Supporting the renovation project of new facilities and monitoring technical and regulatory requirementsCoordinating with internal departments such as Facility Services, IDEE, and HSB, as well as external partnersMonitoring technical processes within the facilities, such as ventilation, temperature, and installationsIdentifying bottlenecks and initiating improvements in processes and organizationActing as the point of contact for technical and organizational mattersStaying involved in daily operations within the facilities to fully understand processesCommunicating effectively with clients and partnersQualificationsStrong organizational skills and overview: you can manage complex projects, structure and improve processesQuality‑driven: you work accurately and are motivated to improve processes and systemsProject‑oriented and communicative: you easily switch between stakeholders and projectsTechnical and practical insight: you have an interest in technical installations, facilities, and regulatory guidelinesExperience in an animal facility or research environment: you are familiar with practice in animal facilities or willing to develop in this areaProficiency in English (B1/B2 level): you can easily communicate with clients and are able to read and process English textsBenefitsA 12-month contract (1.0 fte) with the prospect of a permanent contract based on mutual satisfaction.A gross monthly salary between €3 708,00 and €5 538,00 (based on full‑time employment of 38 hours per week). 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year‑end bonus.29 vacation days (based on full‑time), four additional days off (Carnival Monday and Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day), and the possibility to accrue up to 12 extra days through compensation hours.Flexible working hours, a home office allowance, and the option to work from home.Freedom and space to shape your work independently and develop your ideas.A close‑knit community of colleagues to collaborate and grow with.A solid pension plan via ABP, company fitness schemes, and access to various university sports facilities.An inspiring work environment in the heart of Europe.Equal Opportunity StatementThe vacancy is open for internal and external candidates.
