- Supportive team environment
- Great mix of financial & commercial work
- Lovely offices near the airport
If you’re looking for a role that blends month-end structure with genuine business partnering, this is a fantastic opportunity. Landpower is a well-established trans-Tasman organisation with a strong reputation. This position will give you the chance to support their New Zealand retail dealership network while being part of a collaborative Christchurch based finance team. On offer is a role with real variety, from preparing monthly accounts through to presenting and translating financial information into practical, easy-to-understand insights for operational teams.
The Role
As the Management Accountant, you’ll provide centralised finance support to the NZ retail entities. Month end accounting will be a key part of your role, but this isn’t a back-office position. You’ll also work closely with Branch Managers and Administration Managers, preparing results and commentary and providing analysis to support them to make sound commercial decisions.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly accounts, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner presenting P&L results and commentary to retail branches
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Ensuring the integrity of financial data across retail entities
- Coordinating GST and FBT requirements
- Reviewing CAPEX reporting vs budget
- Building trusted relationships with branch leaders and administration teams
- Identifying opportunities for process and systems improvement
This is a role with plenty of scope to grow your commercial capability, while still keeping your technical accounting skills sharp.
About You
You’ll bring a solid grounding in accounting, perhaps from a BAS or a commercial accounting role, and you’re ready for a position where you can take ownership and work closely with the business. You’ll enjoy the balance of month-end structure, with the business facing management accounting work that lets you build relationships across the organisation. An interest in the agri sector is a bonus, but absolutely not essential.
You’ll work across a suite of tools including the Pronto ERP system, Workday Adaptive for budgeting and reporting, and Power BI as the business continues to move towards deeper analysis.
Why This Role
- A genuinely varied mix of financial and management accounting
- Supportive leaders and a collaborative team
- Exposure across budgeting, forecasting, reporting and commercial analysis
- Office based role in modern premises near Christchurch Airport
- A business with strong values and long-standing industry presence
