Job Context

Our client produces industrial soaps, dispersions, and hard resins at their Maastricht site. These products are mainly supplied from stock, using intercontinentally sourced natural resins.

The Maintenance & Engineering department has two branches: maintenance and engineering. The maintenance branch focuses on electronics, mechanics, process automation (Delta V and PLC control), and administrative tasks using the SAP system.

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Technician Mechanical, you’ll focus on first-line issues and preventive maintenance of the entire factory installation. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, overhauling valves, instrumentation, pumps, and performing (TIG) welding of steel and stainless steel piping. You’ll also adapt existing installations and support production during a 1-week rotation as a fault engineer, with on-call duties.

Reporting to : Manager Maintenance & Projects (hierarchical), Supervisor Maintenance & Projects (technical)

Function Objective

Perform maintenance and modification work on mechanical installations and utilities, ensuring compliance with company and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Locating Malfunctions : Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using tools and machines, and call in specialists as needed.

Inspections : Conduct periodic inspections, repair defects, and report findings to the manager.

Modifications : Perform overhauls and adjustments based on work orders/drawings and propose equipment modifications.

Administration : Record data on malfunctions, material consumption, and hours worked in a computerized system.

Supervising Third-Party Fitters : Provide instructions and assist external contractors.

Safety and Compliance : Follow safety regulations, maintain a clean working environment, and identify unsafe situations.

Work-Related Concerns

Physical exertion during disassembly and assembly work.

Working in hard-to-reach places and exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, chemicals, and other hazards.

Wearing personal protective equipment.
