For our team we are looking for a motivated:

Global Innovation finance controller

Serving as a business partner to the Global Science, Research, and Innovation organization, helping to manage €700m+ annual investment, involving 2000+ talented scientists across the globe. Innovation Finance helps to translate strategic priorities in Innovation area into financial objectives, ensuring clarity of vision across all BU and Group Innovation activities including investment priorities, tracking of results, and stage gating of innovation efforts according to strategic relevance and risk / return potential. In this role of Global Innovation Finance Controller, you will be a key pillar in the FP&A team, contributing to all aspects of Innovation Finance and driving simplification and automation of reporting and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Planning: Lead and manage innovation opex and capex spend, and major processes including budget, RAF, actual reporting, and allocations. Provide full transparency of spend for S&R and BU.
  • Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to Innovation leaders and stakeholders to support and challenge the S&R team to manage spend and allocations. Provide transparency in demand/supply of resources, drive improvement performance through prioritization.
  • Accounting and Compliance: Ensure capitalization and depreciations rules are followed. Consolidation and risk mitigation. Lead audit and communication requirements.
  • Supply/Demand Process: Coordinate and lead supply/demand process. Provide transparency and reporting in resulting allocation.
  • Project Support: Support and participate in other projects as needed (could be cross-functional and cross-regional).

  • In the Netherlands, based on your experience we will offer you a base salary of € 76,594 to € 109,420 per year (based on fulltime, including holiday allowance and 13th month) and extra benefits (25 holiday days, bonus, etc). For other countries we will share info during the screening process.
  • You Bring

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or Accounting.
  • 5-10 years’ experience working in an FP&A, In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts. Innovation experience is a plus.
  • Extraordinary analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and ensure integrity and accuracy of data while being capable of higher-level interpretation and explanation.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across functions and groups, with effective communication and proactive alignment.
  • Proven expertise in modeling techniques and managing large data sets, as well as IT literacy and allocation methodologies.
