In this role you drive the happiness and growth of our backend engineering Depsters, both on a personal and professional level. You work closely with the Head of Engineering, People leads, competency leads and Directors to position teams for success. You do this by creating and cultivating a culture of autonomy, ownership, knowledge sharing, cooperation and continuous improvement of the engineering practice.
Focus on growing the development and backend development discipline within DEPT®;
Work with sales to bring in new clients and upsell solutions to existing clients;
Cooperate with technical directors on creating new technology propositions for our clients;
Focus on scaling the backend engineering group in both technology and business competencies;
Focus on improving quality of work of the backend engineering team, leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products and processes;
Sharing your knowledge across the teams and towards different competency teams;
Focus on upskilling and growing the leadership group within the engineering team.

5+ years of relevant experience within backend development including leading a team;
A proactive and optimistic approach to resolving problem;
A high degree of emotional intelligence;
The ability to prioritize tasks for oneself and teams;
The ability to think strategically and plan long-term;
The ability to build trust and bring teams together;
The ability to bring people together to solve problems;
The ability to provide constructive criticism and feedback;
The ability to manage people and help them grow;
An agency background is a plus;
Experience with projects of a digital native nature is a plus.
