Role Overview:
Are you a skilled Energy Engineer with a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency? Join our client’s team to support EMEA site management in achieving annual energy management targets and making production sites as energy-efficient and sustainable as possible. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective reporting to local governments and advancing the organisation’s sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Energy Strategy & Advisory: Serve as the internal expert on energy management, providing insights and strategic recommendations to optimize energy performance and sustainability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including production, maintenance, and sustainability, to develop energy-saving initiatives and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Implementation Support: Partner with the engineering team to guide the execution of energy efficiency projects, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with sustainability goals.
- Compliance & Reporting: Oversee energy compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to ISO50001 standards and regulatory obligations in Belgium and the Netherlands.
- Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Assess energy usage trends, identify areas for improvement, and develop data-driven recommendations for enhancing energy performance.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in energy management to drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with additional qualifications in energy management.
- Expertise in Energy Systems: Strong understanding of electricity, natural gas, biogas, compressed air, steam, HVAC, thermal oil systems, chillers, nitrogen, lighting, and solar panels.
- Energy & Sustainability Leadership: Experience in developing and implementing energy management strategies, preferably within an industrial setting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with energy regulations, compliance frameworks, and ISO50001 energy management systems.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze energy data, identify efficiency opportunities, and recommend actionable solutions.
- Collaboration & Influence: Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate across teams.
- Hands-on Mindset: While primarily a strategic role, a willingness to engage with the engineering team during implementation is essential.
- Travel: Willingness to travel between sites in Belgium and the Netherlands.
